A message from Luqman Katz, Regional Chair, Subud California
Holiday Greetings to all from Luqman, Raphaela and the gang on the Subud California Regional Committee! We wish you the best of everything in the coming year and hope that any of the challenges we have to face will become God’s gifts for each of us.
When Bapak or Ibu Rahayu attended a Congress, the focus would quickly become, first and foremost, the spiritual. Your regional helpers and committee dearly hope to continue this example. The helpers are happy to visit any group that would like them to come. So far, they have visits planned for 2020 to the Bay Area and in Southern CA, dates to be determined. It is apparent to us that we’re just along for the ride, and the real focus, the real content is the latihan. And, isn’t this why we are Subud members? Our August Regional Congress will reflect such a hope as it will be a Kedjiwaan Gathering.
We are blessed to have 12 dedicated members who are your Regional Councilor Representatives. Please speak with them, or contact us directly, with any questions or concerns and to hear what’s going on in the Region. It is very encouraging for us to have these members to advise us and to work as one for a sound and harmonious Region.
Raphaela and I have only been at this for four months. Early on, we just got our feet wet learning the ropes. But now, we are wet up to the knees (it’s mushy but somebody has to do it). The Region is doing well, with your help, and we are intending to move forward with care and with responsibility.
Please accept our wishes for each of you to have a peaceful holiday and New Year 2020 (yikes!). Here is hoping for a successful and productive year filled with lots of latihan, and love and respect for all.
