Wedding. Yes, another wonderful wedding! Dominic Moleski and his bride, Debi, were married in the yurt May 18th. A pre-wedding BBQ earlier in May was enjoyed by many.
Activities. A yurt beautification project has been underway and is nearing completion, with patio deck by Lucas Hess and Vincent Moleski, a pergola by Uri Hardwin, Dominic and son Vincent, and planter box wall and trellis by Uri. The Herrmans planted flowers around the yurt and Melinda Michaels contributed climbing honeysuckle. We have been celebrating the occasion with BBQs, and plan to continue as often as our chef, Benedict Herrman, will keep grilling!
Bapak Videos. An invitation is extended to members once a month by our center helpers to view a Bapak video at varying locations.
Helper Retreat. All of our active and one inactive woman helper attended, accompanied by one man helper. We hear it was a wonderful experience. Thank you to the Regional Helpers and the Los Angeles group!!
National Congress Proposals. Our center had a very well attended business meeting May 17th, discussed and voted on each congress proposal. Overall, the group had serious concerns on the process. The current National Committee did not follow our SUSA Bylaw requirement to provide proposals to the membership a minimum of 90 days prior to the congress. Should any proposals be ratified, we will be in violation of our bylaws. Additionally, the membership was not provided with the actual wording of the proposals, rather only a synopsis.
