Hello from your California Congress 2017 Co-Chairs, Leo Horthy and Rosana Schutte!
We are very thrilled to announce the dates and place of our 2017 California Congress on August 11-14 (Friday-Monday) at the University California at Santa Barbara.
We decided to look for alternate dates as the Memorial Day weekend falls during Ramadan (May 26-June 25) this year. Ramadan poses challenges for meal plan offerings and other logistics during Congress. In assessing timing and options, we also were aware that National Congress is in early July and school vacations run mid-June to in mid-August.
UCSB offers a terrific venue, and a very affordable pricing package, on a beautiful campus near the ocean (photos below). We will have residential style housing rather than dormitories and will be able to accommodate families. On-campus accessibility makes getting around easy. Santa Barbara has an airport for those needing to fly, and its central locatation in California makes driving is convenient as well.
The team has the support of the Santa Barbara Subud Group for on-site details in the planning. A big thank you to Philip Lindstrom, Elizabeth Trudell and Dennis Oliver for their stalwart help searching for the Congress site!

We will be soon soliciting workshops so get ready to share your gifts!
A website is being built so that all our information can get to you in a timely manner. We will put together costs as soon as we can, knowing you are making your Summer plans for travel and need this information.
