Monterey members continue to meet in the Community Room at the Marina Library, sometimes on Tuesday evenings and sometimes on Sunday at noon. On June 9, we entertained ourselves with an official Meeting and potluck. We have been invited to Latihan & potluck with Santa Cruz on July 14. We’re looking forward to sharing some time with our two small groups

The Monterey group is once again active, returning to our former meeting location at the spacious community room at the Marina Library (pictured below).  We are meeting once a week, for now. If you are near Monterey on a Tuesday evening in October, do join us for latihan at 7:00pm(W) / 8:00pm(M).

And, we plan a latihan, potluck and conversation on December 18 at 11am-2pm. Visitors welcomed!

We are also delighted to welcome back Miriam Moyer, returning to the Peninsula after several other moves, and Hosanna Quintin, returning after a stint in Santa Cruz.

Olivia Panapolos passed February 14, 2014

Brothers and Sister we are sad to announcement the passing of our long time sister Olivia Panopolos.  Olivia passed Friday the 14th at 6:10 am.  She was surrounded by family, the passing was peaceful. She had been dealing with cancer for a long time.

On Thursday March 20th there will be a Funeral followed by a Memorial / Selamatan.  All are welcome.  Bring memories, photos and food.  We will share our prayers and memories.  For those who will be having selamatans in other places Olivia wanted us to “Ask God to keep her in His embrace for all eternity.”

The Funeral will take place at San Carlos Cemetery.  727 Fremont St. in Monterey.  Take the 2nd driveway.  It is adjacent to the Monterey City Cemetery.

After the burial. A memorial / selamatan will take place at Ilia Thompson’s house at 33 Via Contenta in Carmel Valley.

We will commemorate her life with some of her favorite foods. She loved lamb, chocolate, sweet black tea, dolmas, strawberries with lots of whipped cream.  She also liked pears, rice, pecans, ice cream and chocolate pudding.  She liked cottage cheese with sugar on top, chicken soup and any Indonesian dish with sambol (chili sauce).

For those who would like to send a contribution to help with funeral costs, please send them to her daughter Alicia Jones at 1321 Josselyn Canyon Rd. Monterey 93940.
