The Sharing Circle at the 2020 California Regional Gathering

On Sunday, August 9th, many members participated in the Sharing Circle via Zoom. We very much enjoyed seeing each other’s faces and hearing each other’s voices! Each participant had the opportunity to offer brief observations on life during the pandemic and what the experience of the Virtual Gathering meant to them. Here are a few excerpts from these comments:

  • The Gathering expanded opportunity in this time of isolation, especially for members who couldn’t travel to attend the usual in-person meeting.
  • I experienced an expanded sense of connection from the virtual latihan and zoom events
  • If you feel isolated, join a committee and share the work of Subud!
  • I felt connected in the latihan by “a golden thread”
  • There is so much uncertainty as we wonder how long we will have to live this way
  • It feels as though we are in a “waiting room” right now, between the past world and the next phase of our personal and world development.
  • We are experiencing a moment of transformation to the future
  • Perhaps there is a quantum field we experience, related to the Latihan
  • The pandemic is an opportunity for inner growth and cleansing
  • I am reminded of a quote from Rumi: “Something big is coming.”
  • Latihan in this time is a blessing and is helping all of humanity
  • With the pandemic, it is possible to experience less pollution, more time in the garden, a more peaceful world
  • I am more aware both of problems such as inequality of income, and the reality of spiritual life
  • Our children will grow beyond political party polarization and start with a clean slate
  • The Inner is quieter now
  • The Gathering is a way to recharge batteries and find a connection to God
  • Connecting through the Gathering has lit up my life

It was a blessing to be together to exchange thoughts and feel the connection with each other, each from our homes.
